First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a program called Step Up that combines in-person coaching with a mobile app to teach coping skills and encourage physical activity. It includes 177 adults who have had a stem cell transplant or CAR-T therapy for blood cancers like leukemia or multiple myeloma. The goal is to see if the program helps reduce physical disability and improve walking ability.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
coping skills training and activity coaching (Step Up program)
What this could lead to
If it works, this program could help blood cancer survivors feel less disabled and more active after intensive treatments like transplant or CAR-T therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a behavioral intervention study, not a drug trial, so benefits may be modest. Results depend on patient engagement and may not apply to everyone.
