New shockwave therapy may improve stent placement in heart patients
NCT ID NCT07316504
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at two ways to fix a common problem after heart stent placement: when the stent doesn't fully expand. The trial will compare a new technique called intravascular lithotripsy (using sound waves) with standard high-pressure balloons. About 80 adults with narrowed stents will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods to see which works better.
