New stent shows promise for faster heart vessel healing
NCT ID NCT06214819
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests two different stents (tiny mesh tubes) used to open blocked heart arteries. It compares a newer drug-coated stent without a permanent polymer to a standard one, to see which allows the artery lining to heal faster after placement. About 40 adults with coronary artery disease will receive both types of stents in different arteries, and healing will be checked with a special camera one month later.
