First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding stem cells to standard cooling therapy can help newborns with brain damage from lack of oxygen at birth. About 40 infants with moderate to severe injury will receive either stem cells or a placebo within the first 10 days of life. Researchers will track their development for 2 years to see if the treatment reduces the risk of death or serious disability.
