Stem cell shot may ease radiation dry mouth
NCT ID NCT07431645
First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This early study tested a single injection of stem cells from donated umbilical cord tissue in 10 people who developed severe dry mouth after radiation for head and neck cancer. The main goal was to see if the treatment is safe, and researchers also looked for signs that it might help restore saliva production. The results could lead to new ways to repair radiation-damaged salivary glands.
