Doctors test personal stem cell shots to fight ALS

NCT ID NCT03268603

Summary

This study is testing whether stem cells taken from a patient's own body fat and injected into the fluid around their spine can safely slow the progression of ALS. Over 12 months, 75 participants at Mayo Clinic will receive four injections to see if this treatment helps maintain their physical abilities. The goal is to find a new way to control this serious neurological disease.
