NCT ID NCT03957954
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether stem cells grown from a patient's own eye can be safely transplanted to treat limbal stem cell deficiency, a condition that damages the cornea and impairs vision. Researchers will enroll 20 adults to check if the cells can be manufactured and placed onto the eye without causing serious infections or other harm. The goal is to see if the procedure is safe and feasible before moving to larger studies.
