Summary
This study tests whether atorvastatin, a widely used cholesterol drug, can reduce lung inflammation and prevent flare-ups in 460 smokers with COPD. Participants will receive either the drug or a placebo for about a year. The goal is to see if statins can also lower the risk of lung cancer in this high-risk group.
