First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking spironolactone for three months after giving birth can help lower blood pressure and improve heart health in women who had preeclampsia or high blood pressure during pregnancy. The trial includes 204 women who were overweight before pregnancy and needed blood pressure medication around delivery. Researchers will check blood pressure and heart structure nine months after delivery to see if the drug helps prevent long-term heart problems.
