New back injection could cut opioid use after surgery

NCT ID NCT06528288

Summary

This study aims to see if a specific type of injection in the back muscles (called an ESPB block) works better than standard skin-level injections at reducing pain and the need for opioid painkillers after lumbar spinal fusion surgery. Researchers will track pain levels and medication use in 66 adults having this back surgery. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to manage post-surgery pain.
