Heart check: new ultrasound spots hidden risks in IBD patients

NCT ID NCT06695065

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will use a detailed heart ultrasound technique called speckle tracking to look for early signs of heart trouble in 100 adults with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Researchers want to see if this method can catch heart changes before they become serious and how those changes relate to IBD activity. Participants will not receive any treatment; the goal is simply to learn more about the link between IBD and heart health.
