NCT ID NCT04122079

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a Spanish version of the Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation-Outcome Measure (CORE-OM), a questionnaire that measures psychological distress, in over 1,100 people in Chile. Participants included mental health patients, university students, and community members. Researchers checked how consistent and accurate the questionnaire was, and whether it could detect changes over time. The goal was to see if this tool is reliable for use in Spanish-speaking populations.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could give therapists in Chile a reliable tool to measure psychological distress and track treatment progress.

What could go wrong

This is a validation study, not a treatment trial. The questionnaire may not work equally well for all groups, and it does not directly improve mental health.
