Research links poverty, stress, and depression to higher heart disease risk

NCT ID NCT05772221

Summary

This study aimed to understand how social and economic factors—like income, stress, and depression—affect heart and blood vessel health in minority communities at higher risk for health disparities. Researchers enrolled 105 adults to complete surveys about their life experiences, mental health, and social needs. The goal was to gather knowledge to help address health inequities, not to test a treatment.
