New program tackles two major struggles for cancer survivors: smoking and pain
NCT ID NCT06029907
Summary
This small pilot study tested a program designed to help cancer survivors quit smoking and better manage their pain. The program combined counseling techniques with a prescription medication (varenicline/Chantix) that can aid both smoking cessation and pain relief. Researchers aimed to see if this combined approach was practical and acceptable to participants, and if it showed promise for helping people quit smoking and improve their quality of life.
