NCT ID NCT07160465
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a smartphone app called emma, used alongside the standard VigilanS program, can reduce suicide events (like attempts or hospital visits) in adults who recently attempted suicide. The app lets users quickly contact crisis support, tracks mood, and offers coping tools. Researchers will follow 632 participants for 6 months to see if the app makes a difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
emma smartphone application
What this could lead to
If it works, this app could provide real-time support and risk detection for people at high risk of suicide, potentially reducing suicide attempts and deaths.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial with no prior efficacy data. The app relies on self-reporting and smartphone access, which may not suit everyone. Results may not generalize beyond the French healthcare system.
