Your phone could soon spot a silent heart killer
NCT ID NCT07284550
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study explores whether a smartphone can screen for aortic valve stenosis, a narrowing of the heart's main valve that often goes undetected until it becomes dangerous. Researchers will record heart sounds and chest vibrations from 500 adults using a smartphone's built-in sensors, then compare the results to standard echocardiograms. If successful, this could provide a simple, affordable way for people to check their heart health at home.
