Summary

This study tests a new smart home system that uses artificial intelligence to deliver cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia to young adult cancer survivors. The system includes a smart speaker, smart lighting, and a special Wi-Fi router. Researchers will compare it to standard sleep education in 74 participants aged 18-42 who have had cancer and suffer from chronic insomnia. The goal is to see if the AI-driven program can improve sleep and quality of life.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia delivered via smart speaker, smart lighting, and Wi-Fi router

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a convenient, at-home treatment for insomnia in young cancer survivors, improving sleep and quality of life.

What could go wrong

This is a small early-stage trial with only 74 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The technology may be difficult to use or less effective than in-person therapy.
