Summary

This trial tests whether Sleep Island, a WeChat mini-program for parents, can help preschool children sleep longer. Researchers will randomly assign 122 families to either use the app for 4 weeks or receive standard sleep education. The app tracks the child's sleep, gives personalized feedback, and offers tailored advice. The main goal is to see if children's nighttime sleep duration increases.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Sleep Island, a parent-focused WeChat mini-program that provides sleep monitoring, feedback, education, and personalized recommendations
What this could lead to
If it works, this could give families a practical, low-cost digital tool to help preschoolers sleep longer and improve bedtime habits.
What could go wrong
The trial is small and early, so results may not apply to all families. The program depends on parents consistently using the app and following recommendations.
