Could your sleep habits influence cancer treatment success?

NCT ID NCT07662005

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether sleep patterns—like duration, quality, and heart rate during sleep—are linked to how well stomach cancer responds to immunotherapy before surgery. Researchers will monitor sleep non-invasively in 120 patients with locally advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer. The goal is to see if better sleep is associated with a stronger tumor shrinkage after treatment. No changes are made to standard care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If sleep patterns are linked to treatment response, this could help personalize cancer care by identifying patients who might benefit from sleep interventions.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may not lead to changes in treatment or outcomes.
