Scientists probe brain link between sleepless nights and back pain

NCT ID NCT06973837

Summary

This study aims to understand how chronic sleep problems and chronic low back pain are connected in the brain. Researchers will compare four groups of people—some with pain, some with insomnia, some with both, and healthy individuals—using brain scans, sleep studies, and pain sensitivity tests. The goal is to learn if brain inflammation plays a role in why poor sleep makes pain feel worse.
