Researchers probe hidden heart risk in sleep apnea patients

NCT ID NCT07184060

Summary

This study aims to understand if having obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) increases a person's risk for high blood pressure in the lungs, known as pulmonary hypertension. Researchers will observe 55 adults already diagnosed with sleep apnea, using heart ultrasound scans to measure lung artery pressure. The goal is to see if more severe sleep apnea is directly linked to higher pressure in these arteries.
