Could a longer breathing tube reduce surgery risks for sleep apnea patients?

NCT ID NCT07362706

Summary

This study looks back at medical records to see if keeping the breathing tube in place longer after stomach cancer surgery (24-48 hours instead of removing it sooner) affects complication rates. It focuses on patients who also have severe obstructive sleep apnea, a condition that causes breathing pauses during sleep. Researchers will compare complication rates between the two groups to gather information for future care.
