Could a Baby's sucking pattern reveal a hidden sleep danger?

NCT ID NCT07195253

Summary

This study aims to understand the link between how infants with Down syndrome suck on a pacifier and the severity of their sleep apnea. Researchers will measure sucking patterns and sleep breathing in 30 six-month-old infants to see if a simple sucking test could become an easier way to screen for this common and serious sleep disorder. The goal is to find new methods for early detection, which is linked to better long-term development.
