Implanted device aims to tame dangerous sleep apnea

Summary

This study is creating a national registry in Belgium to track the long-term results of an implanted device for obstructive sleep apnea. The device, called Inspire, stimulates a nerve to keep the airway open during sleep. Researchers will follow 225 patients for five years to see how well the device controls their breathing disruptions and improves their sleep quality and daily life.
