First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looked at how sleep problems affect the risk of returning to drinking in people recovering from alcohol dependence. Researchers followed 198 adults as they left inpatient rehab and returned home. They measured sleep quality with questionnaires and activity monitors, and checked drinking behavior after 4-6 weeks. The goal was to understand if poor sleep makes relapse more likely.
