New surgical technique aims to stop skin grafts from failing

NCT ID NCT04967391

Summary

This study is testing if injecting a special saltwater solution (tumescence) into the thigh before taking a skin graft improves how well the graft heals on a patient's arm or leg after head and neck cancer surgery. Researchers are comparing this technique to the current standard method in 58 patients. The goal is to see if it reduces graft failure, which can lead to more infections and longer recovery times.
