Desert sand baths may ease RA lung and pain symptoms
NCT ID NCT07287696
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether Siwan sand therapy (warm sand baths followed by olive oil massage) could improve lung function, pain, and daily activity in people with rheumatoid arthritis. Thirty adults with moderate to severe RA were split into two groups: one received sand therapy for 5 days, the other received standard physiotherapy for 2 months. The goal was to see if the sand treatment offered any breathing or symptom benefits compared to usual care.
