Could a pill for MS slow down Alzheimer's?

NCT ID NCT06639282

Summary

This study is testing whether siponimod, an oral medication already approved for multiple sclerosis, can slow brain shrinkage in people with mild Alzheimer's disease. Over 18 months, 105 participants will take either siponimod or a placebo pill to see if the drug is safe and if it affects the rate of brain atrophy, which is linked to memory loss. The goal is to see if this repurposed drug can help control the progression of Alzheimer's.
