Could a 'Sinus Transplant' wash away chronic infections?

NCT ID NCT05454072

Summary

This study is testing a new procedure called a SinoNasal Microbiota Transfer (SNMT) for people with chronic sinusitis that hasn't improved with standard treatments like antibiotics or surgery. It works like a transplant, transferring healthy bacteria from a screened donor's sinuses into the patient's sinuses after a deep cleaning 'power wash.' The goal is to see if this can reduce infection, inflammation, and symptoms by restoring a healthier balance of sinus microbes.
