Singapore launches 20-Year quest to unlock secrets of health from womb to adulthood
NCT ID NCT01174875
Summary
This long-term study aims to understand how a mother's health, lifestyle, and environment during pregnancy, combined with a child's early life, influence the risk of developing future health problems like diabetes, obesity, and mental health conditions. Researchers are following over 1,200 mothers and their children from early pregnancy until the child is at least 20 years old. They are collecting health data, lifestyle information, and biological samples to map the complex pathways that lead from early development to adult disease.
