First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will test a simulation-based training program for new surgical residents, anesthesia nurses, and operating room nurses. Participants will go through two 60-minute team training sessions with realistic scenarios and guided discussions. The goal is to see if this training boosts their confidence in teamwork and readiness to work together, which could improve patient safety.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Simulation-based interprofessional education sessions
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that simulation training improves teamwork and patient safety in operating rooms.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study (30 people) at one hospital, so results may not apply elsewhere. It only measures short-term changes in confidence, not actual patient outcomes.
