Doctor training aims to ease pain of miscarriage
NCT ID NCT06647849
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether special training for medical interns on how to compassionately announce an early miscarriage can improve the emotional well-being of patients. Over 600 women who had a miscarriage before 14 weeks will be asked about their psychological experience. The goal is to see if better communication from doctors can reduce distress and improve the overall experience.

Active substance
simulation training for interns
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to better emotional support for women experiencing early pregnancy loss, reducing distress and improving their overall experience.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study focused on training, not a direct treatment. Results may not show a clear benefit, and improvements might not be consistent across different hospitals or interns.
