Practice makes perfect: simulated epidurals may boost success rates

NCT ID NCT07056140

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether anesthesia residents who practice on a simulator before working in the labor ward place epidurals more successfully than those who only get standard training. 86 residents will be randomly assigned to either simulation or standard training. The main goal is to see if simulation leads to more successful catheter placements without help from a supervisor.
