Scientists hunt for clues to sickle cell pain

Summary
This study aims to find out why some people with sickle cell disease develop severe, disabling pain while others do not. Researchers will track 70 participants aged 15 to 40 over up to 48 months using surveys and pain tests. The goal is to improve pain management and guide future non-opioid treatments.
