Could fewer radiation sessions be safer for endometrial cancer?
NCT ID NCT04683653
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing whether a shorter course of pelvic radiation (called hypofractionation) is safe for women with endometrial cancer. The researchers will find the best dose and see if it reduces bowel and urinary side effects. About 100 women who have already had surgery will participate.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- hypofractionated radiation therapy
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a shorter, more convenient radiation schedule with fewer side effects for women with endometrial cancer.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early phase 1/2 study with only 100 participants, so safety and effectiveness are not yet proven. Higher daily radiation doses may increase side effects.
