Could you get dental implants in 4 months instead of 6?
NCT ID NCT07484685
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether waiting 4 months instead of the usual 6 months after a tooth extraction is safe and effective for placing a dental implant. Forty adults who need a single tooth replaced will be randomly assigned to either the shorter or standard wait time. Researchers will measure bone changes and implant stability using X-rays and other tests to see if the faster approach works just as well.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Vega Plus implant system (Klockner)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could allow patients to get dental implants sooner after a tooth extraction, reducing overall treatment time while maintaining good bone and implant stability.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Shortening the healing time could risk poorer bone support or implant failure.
