First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 01, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether the shingles vaccine is safe and works well for people with lupus, a condition that can weaken the immune system. About 224 adults with lupus will receive either the vaccine or a placebo, and researchers will monitor for lupus flares and immune response over 24 weeks. The goal is to see if the vaccine is as safe as a placebo and triggers a strong enough immune reaction to prevent shingles.
