NCT ID NCT05433168
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested whether shiatsu, a Japanese finger-pressure therapy, can reduce fatigue in people with axial spondyloarthritis (a type of inflammatory arthritis affecting the spine). 72 adults aged 18 to 70 took part. Researchers measured fatigue using a standard questionnaire (FACIT-F) and looked for a meaningful improvement of at least 4 points. The goal was to see if shiatsu could be a helpful add-on treatment for fatigue, which currently has no specific medication.
