First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested whether using sevoflurane (a gas for anesthesia) during kidney transplant surgery helps the new kidney start working faster compared to the standard drug propofol. About 120 adults receiving a kidney transplant took part. The goal was to see if sevoflurane could reduce damage from the time the kidney was without blood supply and improve recovery.
