New drug aims to save sepsis patients by restoring immune function

NCT ID NCT07578558

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding an experimental drug (NAI) to standard care can help critically ill sepsis patients with persistently low lymphocyte counts (a sign of immune weakness) survive longer. About 50 adults in the ICU will be randomly assigned to receive either NAI injections plus standard care or standard care alone. The main goal is to see if NAI reduces deaths within 28 days.
