Summary
This study aims to understand why some patients have poor long-term recovery after sepsis or severe trauma. Researchers will observe 450 adults with these conditions, tracking specific immune cells in their blood over 6 months. The goal is to learn how these illnesses disrupt the body's immune system and healing process, which could inform future treatments.
