Urine test aims to stop sepsis from harming kidneys
NCT ID NCT04434209
Summary
This study tested whether using a special urine test (NephroCheck®) could help doctors spot early signs of kidney stress in sepsis patients. If the test was positive, doctors would start specific protective treatments sooner than usual. The goal was to prevent kidney injury, reduce the need for dialysis, and lower the risk of death. The trial was stopped early and only enrolled 19 participants.
