Scientists hunt for clues in sepsis survival

NCT ID NCT05875740

Summary

This study aimed to understand how specific types of immune cells, called memory CD8+ T cells, are related to how severe sepsis becomes and whether a patient survives. Researchers observed 16 adult patients in the ICU with sepsis, taking blood samples to measure these cells over several days. The goal was to gather knowledge that might help predict outcomes or guide future treatments, but this study did not test any new therapies.
