Mayo clinic tests smarter antibiotic dosing to fight sepsis
NCT ID NCT07287332
Summary
This study is testing whether a new, more personalized method for dosing a common antibiotic (cefepime) works better for very sick patients in the ICU with serious infections like sepsis. The main goal is to see if doctors and nurses find the new dosing method easy to use in a real hospital setting. Researchers will also check if this personalized dosing helps patients get better faster, spend less time in the ICU, and have fewer side effects compared to the usual dosing method.
