Diabetes drug scrutinized for potential kidney protection

Summary
This study aimed to understand how the diabetes medication semaglutide might help protect the kidneys in people who have both type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease. Over one year, 106 participants received either semaglutide or a placebo injection weekly. Researchers used detailed kidney scans and other tests to measure changes in kidney blood flow, oxygen levels, and inflammation.
