First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study will test two common seizure medicines, phenobarbital and levetiracetam, in 66 newborns with moderate to severe brain injury from lack of oxygen at birth. The goal is to see which drug stops seizures faster and more safely, with a focus on keeping babies seizure-free for 24 to 48 hours. The results could help doctors choose the best treatment for these fragile infants.
