First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study compared a newer seizure medicine, levetiracetam, to the standard treatment (phenobarbitone) in 260 newborns with seizures. The goal was to see if levetiracetam could stop seizures faster and with fewer side effects like sleepiness or feeding problems. Results will help doctors choose the best treatment for these fragile babies.
