NCT ID NCT07401433
First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether a drug called levetiracetam works better and safer than the usual medicines for stopping seizures in newborn babies. 260 newborns with seizures were randomly given either levetiracetam or standard treatment. The goal was to see how quickly seizures stopped and if there were fewer side effects. The results could help doctors choose a gentler, more effective option for these fragile infants.
