Less lung removal may be just as good for small cancers

Summary
This study compares two types of lung surgery for people with small lung cancers (≤2 cm). One surgery removes only a part of the lung lobe (segmentectomy), while the other removes the entire lobe (lobectomy). The goal is to see if the smaller surgery works just as well at preventing the cancer from coming back, while possibly preserving more lung function. About 690 adults aged 20-79 with a specific type of lung cancer will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries and followed over time.
