First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study compares two sedatives—remazolam besylate and dexmedetomidine—in 306 adults aged 18-64 who need a breathing machine in the ICU after non-cardiac surgery. The goal is to see if remazolam is as good or better at keeping patients lightly sedated without causing harm. Key measures include how many days patients are off the ventilator and rates of delirium.
