New sedative tested to help ICU patients breathe on their own sooner
NCT ID NCT06575530
Summary
This study compares two sedation drugs (remazolam besylate vs dexmedetomidine) for patients who need breathing machine support in the ICU after non-cardiac surgery. It aims to see if the new drug is at least as safe and effective at helping patients wake up and breathe on their own sooner. The trial involves 306 adult patients and measures outcomes like time off the ventilator, delirium rates, and recovery quality.
